LAUGHING BUDDHA
There has always been a vibrant community and culture surrounding the art form of tattoo, and their ideas deserve design. The hybrid body art retailer and tattoo shop repurposed an abandoned dentist’s office on a modest budget in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. With careful proportioning, material selection, and selective custom elements, this space became more than the sum of its parts. With a grey ‘dip’ at one end of the space, the interior itself received its own tattoo. Custom jewelry displays, a check-in desk, and a “tile rug” inset made a focal point for the body art community to gather.
